Plastic & Reconstructive Surgeon

Dear Colleagues and Patients,

I am writing to introduce myself as a Plastic & Reconstructive Surgeon at The Wesley Hospital.

I was educated in Dublin, Ireland and graduated from the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland in 1988. I am a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland and The Royal Australasian College of Surgeons. My higher degrees include a MChir(MD) in breast cancer surgery from University College Dublin and a Dean’s List PhD in Plastic Surgery from the University of Queensland in head and neck cancer surgery.

I started my General Surgical training in 1989 and in 1994, plastic surgery training in St. Vincent’s Hospital and St. James’s Hospital in Dublin, Ireland. I then moved to Canniesburn Hospital, Glasgow, Scotland in 1996 to work with Mr. David Soutar. This was followed by a 22 months Hand Fellowship in The Princess Alexandra Hospital in 1998. I returned to Dublin in 2000 to complete my training in The National Craniofacial and Congenital Hand unit in the Mater Hospital and The Temple Street Children’s Hospital in Dublin.

I then returned to Brisbane in 2001 to complete my PhD and in 2003 resumed clinical work as a Senior Lecturer for the Head and Neck Unit and as a Plastic Fellow/Research in the Princess Alexandra Hospital.

My clinical interests include:
